A history explained
The recording of this presentation is now streaming - originally co-sponsored by @scarsdalelibrary
Drawing on original research and incorporating broader historical context, Village Historian and Scarsdale Historical Society Vice President Jordan Copeland examines why Scarsdale attracted a significant Jewish population, how Scarsdale’s Jewish settlement differed from neighboring communities, and the obstacles Jewish residents faced along the way, offering a nuanced account of both progress and challenge..

Communities are built by volunteers
We found an old 2016 video clip about the proposed library renovation on @lohud - starring Terri Simon and @scarsdalelibrary Director Beth Bermel. Terri was Library Board President at the time, and played a major role in the initiative. It’s amazing to see how the original vision became a reality we all enjoy today!
(This is just one of her volunteer contributions in Scarsdale - we just had video evidence!)
We can’t wait to see Terri Simon honored at the Scarsdale Bowl Dinner on April 23! The Scarsdale Historical Society is also receiving the Spotlight Award. RSVP through @scarsdalefoundation
